I have used the cards with a child that is a selective mute, she is one of five under the age of 5 and both of her parents suffer depression. In order for her to express herself we developed the character 'Molly' using the puppet. Using the puppet and the cards the child shows me how she is feeling through 'Molly'.

Early Years CAF Cards (EYCAF) are a unique resource specifically developed to help practitioners fully engage and empower younger children and their parents in the common assessment process.
Anchored in child development theory and practice, this holistic resource kit stimulates the child to use their body, emotions, and intellect to better express themselves. Rooted in story telling and play, additional 'face cards' , a cute tiger puppet and a magic wand combine to allow the child to explore their own feelings.
The parenting cards complete the set, giving a voice to a whole range of family experiences.
EYCAF Cards have been designed in consultation with Early Years staff; parents and children and can be used in one-to-one situations and in groups. They enable children to express their thoughts and feelings in relation to the 19 CAF categories.
EYCAF Cards are delivered with a full day's training, allowing the practitioner to understand the full range of applications that this product has.
